Murder, She Wrote: The strict mentor of a piano prodigy is found dead. The prime suspect is the girl's recently returned father, himself a failed jazz musician who had abandoned his daughter years before when he couldn't deal with the death of his wife. Jessica doubts his guilt, and thinks the mystery hangs on an odd piece of music the victim was playing just before he died.
